The team from Rambling On are back for another Happy Hour in the Camp Kitchen and this time they have a special guest explaining how Rottnest Island and tinned pineapple have a story to tell.
Camp Kitchen With Paula
450g Self-raising flour
1tsp caster sugar
80g chilled butter cut into cubes
Mix flour, salt & sugar together in a bowl.
Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until it looks like fine breadcrumbs.
Add milk slowly and mix to form a dough.
Knead lightly on a floured board until smooth. Shape into a round loaf, brush with milk and cut a cross into the top surface of the dough.
Grease a large sheet of foil and wrap the dough.
Place on the coals of the BBQ and let it bake for about 30minutes, or in a camp oven with coals under and on the lid.
Paula’s top tip: To test if it’s done, tap on the loaf and it should sound hollow. Cut into thick slices and serve while still warm. Serve with butter and Golden syrup or your favorite jam.
